The principal streets of the Northern Regional Capital, Tamale was yesterday morning heavily flooded with thousands of enthusiastic youth of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) who virtually painted the city red.
The mammoth health walk led by the dynamic and intelligent Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, H. E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia started from the Tamale Jubilee Park through its principal streets to the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, where it was climax with a mega Rally.
The National Health Walk and Rally put together by the NPP National Youth wing under the able leadership of the National Youth Organizer, Lawyer Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B) formed part of activities laying the foundation for a forceful, impactful and vigorous Victory 2020 Youth-Driven Campaign.
Addressing the highly charged and enthusiastic crowd, the Vice President stated that “a comparison between the first three years of the NPP Government and that of the NDC is a clear case of Boot for Challewote”. He emphasized on the need for the Ghanaian youth to give President Akufo-Addo and the NPP four more years by recounting, on top of his head, over 85 achievements of the NPP Government in less than 3years.
Taking his turn at the event, the National Chairman, Hon. Freddie Blay encouraged the youth to be loyal, selfless and diligent in their service to the party.
The National Organiser, Sammi Awuku on the other hand charged the youth to move beyond social media campaigns and move to the grounds to sell the good message and achievements of the government to the voters. “Yesterday we had our talk, today we have had our walk but tomorrow let’s walk our talk and ensure that the NPP win the 2020 general elections decisively” he added.
On the part of the National Youth Organizer, Nana B, he cataloged the many youth focused initiatives and programs being implemented by the Nana Addo led NPP Government, adding that “the youth of the country are eternally grateful to the President and the NPP, and come 2020 we shall give Nana Addo additional four years”.
Taking active part in the events were National Officers of the Party, Ministers and Deputy Ministers, CEOs and Deputy CEOs and other Government Appointees as well as MMDCEs.
Earlier, under the leadership of the National Youth Organizer, Lawyer Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), the party held a successful conference on the University of Development Studies (UDS), Tamale Campus.
The well-organized and filled-to-capacity program was under the theme “One Good Term Deserves Another” and offered the youth an opportunity to unite, strengthen the bond between them, share ideas, and get motivated ahead of the 2020 general elections.
The National Youth Organizer, Nana B ceased the opportunity to acknowledge the hard work of all the past National Youth leaders and awarded them with nicely designed plaque and a big digital painting citation showcasing their contributions to the party with accompanying images of them.
The colorful event chaired by the veteran and indomitable Fmr. National Chairman and Campaign Manager of the NPP, Mr. Peter Mac Manu also had the 2nd Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Mrs. Samira Bawumia as the Guest of Honor.
The conference attracted a lot of the party’s bigwigs: Ministers, Deputy Ministers, CEOs of Parastatals and other government appointees as well as the rank and file of the party.
All the distinguished speakers that mounted the podium could not hide their excitement and contentment with the sterling performance of Nana B as their speeches were fragranced with refreshing laurels on the person and office of the NPP National Youth Leader.
The euphoria and excitement that greeted the event, as the Tamale Township and the event grounds went gaga, clearly demonstrated one thing-that is the preparedness, valor, commitment and determination of the youth of the NPP to sacrifice for the victory of the party as the country goes to the polls in December 2020.
