The Supreme Court has dismissed former President John Dramani Mahama’s application to reopen his case in the 2020 presidential election petition.
Mr Mahama had planned to reopen his case and subpoena the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission as an “hostile witness”.
But in a unanimous ruling Tuesday morning, the Supreme Court dismissed the application.
Meanwhile lead counsel for the petitioner, Mr Tsatsu Tsikata has indicated the petitioner’s intention to review the earlier ruling of the Supreme Court on February 11, 2021, which was challenged the second respondent’s decision not to mount the witness box to give evidence.
